Sustainability and Ethics

At Seasalt, Stone, and Snow, our commitment to sustainability and ethical practices is at the heart of our brand. We aim to positively impact both the environment and the communities we serve through our innovative approaches and responsible partnerships.

Sustainable Materials

  • Recycled Fabrics: Our swimwear is crafted from high-quality recycled materials, including Nylon, Elastane, and Polyester sourced from REPREVE® Recycled Fabrics. These materials help reduce waste and minimize environmental impact.
  • Upcycled Waste: We incorporate Econyl yarns or American Repreve to repurpose waste into recycled fabric, further reducing our environmental footprint.

For more information on the different types of sustainable fabrics we use and how they benefit the planet, we encourage you to read our blog post on sustainable and green fabrics. It provides valuable insights into our material choices and their positive impact.

Environmental Impact

  • CO2 Reduction: Recycling 1000kg of Nylon cuts CO2 emissions by 1424kg, translating into significant environmental benefits, such as energy savings and reduced pollution.
  • Waste Reduction: By choosing recycled materials and minimizing raw material demand, we help extend landfill life and decrease overall waste generation.

Plastic-Free Packaging

  • Compostable Mailers: Our biodegradable mailers are made from plant materials and can be composted or buried in the garden.
  • Eco-Friendly Wrapping: We use 100% recycled, un-waxed wrapping paper and biodegradable paper tape for packaging.
  • Recycled Tags: All hang tags and thank you cards are made from 100% recycled paper.

Ethical Working Conditions

  • Fair Treatment and Benefits: We work with Indonesia’s leading ethical fair trade clothing manufacturer, known for its exemplary labor practices. The factory ensures that all workers are treated with respect and receive fair wages. Employees benefit from national health and pension benefits, 25 paid holidays (compared to the country’s minimum of 12 days), and nutritious meals during work hours.
  • Health and Wellness: The manufacturer provides comprehensive health insurance and promotes a healthy work environment by offering nutritious meals during work hours, ensuring employees do not have to worry about food.
  • Equal Opportunity Employment: Our partner factory is an equal opportunity employer, offering professional and personal development opportunities to every employee. They adhere to the World Fair Trade Organization’s 10 principles, which guide ethical and fair trade practices.
  • Mission and Vision: The factory’s mission is to ethically manufacture premium-quality clothing while supporting local communities and reducing environmental impacts. Their vision is to become the top choice for ethical and fair trade fashion brands, ensuring a positive impact on both the environment and the people involved in the production process.
